Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

I have been raving to review this Product since I bought it last month but I had to give it enough time to delve deeper into the Pros and Cons and here I come with the review.
Rimmel says:

STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER
Controls shine for up to 12 hours. Minimises the appearance of pores with a natural, matte finish. You won't go out without it!

I say:
Starting from the packaging, I would say it is a nice 14 g cake with a transparent plastic cover.

Given my wheatish complexion, I bought the Silky Biege color which goes well on my skin and complexion.

Coming to the texture, It's a lil bit on chalky side. I apply it with the help of a Kabuki brush and one swirl  across the cake gathers too much of product that I have to dust it down. Therefore, I have to keep a very light hand on it. I also do careful buffing after applying to ward off the possible extra powder and avoid a chalky look.

Speaking of the mattifying property. It is satisfactory but it doesn't fulfil the promise of 12 hours shine control. I applied it at 8 in the morning and all the day long my skin was matte, which is fair enough. By 3 pm; my skin had started to show the signs of dewiness. It didn't get flakey or cakey. It kept my skin matte for 7 hours, it started fading after that on the oily parts of my combination skin but it faded beautifully without any blotches/patches. I have been using it for over a month and I have found it a "good" pressed powder. I would have liked if the texture was more on the smooth side and it would set as soon as applied.

I bought it for PKR 600 which is a fair buy.

You can buy it online at http://www.rimmellondon.com/
