Labello Lip Butter - Vanilla & Macadamia

If there's one thing which I will carry with me like a beauty secret all this winter, it has to be Labello Lip Butter.

Labello says: Do you want a sensorial experience, well-cared lips and a soft shine on your lips? The indulging Lip Butter formula pampers lips and relieves dry, chapped lips. It seals in moisture in your lips long- lastingly and leaves the sensitive skin of the lips well protected against external influences

This delicious Lip Butter comes in a 16.7 grams lil, flat jar like packing. Although I don't like the idea of dipping my fingers into the product each time I have to use it but secretly I like the handy, cute and sleek packaging.

I haven't always been lucky when it comes to lip care products. I have tried an array of lip balms/butters blah blah blah but never will I find a product which will keep my lips moisturized and flake free. One thing noteworthy is that after applying it on my lips for 3 days in the mornings and evenings, I didn't have to scrub my lips on the 4th day as lip scrubbing is my daily ritual for my prone to dryness lips.
Its smells faintly of creamy vanilla but the smell doesn't linger on which is good.
Overall, I am very happy with the product and as I said earlier, it is now one of my new go-to accessories for winters and I am definitely gonna try it in other flavors.

I paid 1.2 OMR for it which makes around 300 PKR
Have you tried any of Labello's products?  What your say? Hit back with a comment.

I love you all! xoxo

OLor 24 Hours Active Deodorant

Deodorants are my go-to accessory. I keep trying various brands and ranges be it roll-ons or spray deos. I received these deos by Olor and I'm pretty content I found this brand. Olor is a Norwegian Deodorant brand which has recently introduced its products in Pakistan.

I got Charming Coral and Passionate Pink
Charming Coral is a delicious blend of citrussy-musky. It is warm and sensual and lasted for around 7-8 hours on me. Both these things would make it my pick for winters. Yes! I wear deos in winters too.
Passionate Pink is more feminine and floral yet stronger than Charming Coral. Upon first smelling, it smells rather sweet but upon applying it tones down. It lasted for the whole day on me and that would make it a perfect choice for summers.

Over all, these deodorants are good quality, long lasting and refreshing with an affordable price tag of PKR 195. They come in 6 different fragrances and are available across the country.

P.S: The product was sent for review purpose but it hasn't affected my opinion. I wasn't paid for this review.

The Body Shop BB Cream

I am excited to post my first ever BB Cream review.. yeah! the very first but hey! better late than never.
Under the spotlight is The Body Shop all ine one BB cream.
I am the kind of person who tends to form the first impression on packaging and general sheen and shine of the packaging andlick silver here, I was expecting too much from this sleek silver tube!

 Isn't it beautiful?!

It smells of rose when applied and the smell is too strong but it doesn't linger on and dies within half an hour of applying. The consistency is neither thick nor thin. Upon opening you find this mud colored cream with tiny buds which look like exfoliating beads but these are infact color adjusting particles. This cream adjusts itself flawlessly on your skin. My hands skin is a lil darker than my face skin and I tried it on both. It passed the test of color adjustment..

Coming to coverage: Its very low coverage. Its not even sheer rather its zero coverage. It would give you the kinda dewy finished look which you can get with any good tinted moisturizer. It claims to be moisturizing which it is but that's not what you apply a BB cream for! I applied it on my face during the days when my face was an oil rig and it neither made it oilier not had any mattifying effect. After applying it for over 8 hours, I didn't get any breakouts.

Coming to my biggest turn-off it DOES NOT have SPF! Yes! this is the department where I would fail it as a BB cream!
Over all.. it's a fairly good tinted moisturizer and not a BB cream for sure with no coverage and no SPF. I would not go for spending PKR 2100 or so for a cream where I can get a way better one in way less money, my sister bought it from PBBC (Pakistani Beauty Bloggers Community) Blog Sale for PKR  1000 from the lovely blogger Anila Faruk and I am so glad we didn't get it off the rack! ;)

Pros: moisturizing, color adjusting
Cons:: Doesn't have SPF, Zero Coverage, you have to apply foundation, concealer separately

Did you try this BB Cream? What was your experience? Which BB Cream is your favorite one?
Ht back in a comment. I love you all! <3

Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Makeup Remover

A quick review of one of the best make up cleansers I've used in a long time. It's light, removed my makeup effectively, didn't break me out and yeah! after a loooong day; it also removed the dust and dirt off my face. It worked well to remove the waterproof mascara and didn't sting my eyes at all. What else could I expect?  Definitely! one of my best finds this season.

I know I know, You must have heard and read a lot about this cutest ever Lip Balm product. Here are my two pennies on the product I have been using for 3 weeks now and I am loving it.
My lips are basically dry and I have to work them before I wear matte or a-not-so hydrating lipstick therefore I am always on the look out for a non greasy lip balm. I bought this from http://www.just4girls.pk/ when I visited Pakistan this time. I wanted to buy it in some other exciting flavor but Lemon Drop was all they had in stock, yet! no worries..I like it anyway!

My shopping experience at Dhanak

In the recent past, we have seen a mushroom growth of online jewellery and cosmetic stores in Pakistan.. But there's a downside to it too. I recently read some bad experiences the fellow bloggers had with sham stores and sub standard goods and the instances where the goods were mis-delivered and the stores refused to take any responsibility. Well, I was very lucky in this regard. I shopped for these 2 items from Dhanak.

Health Check # 1- Antiperspirant or Deodorant?

As summers draw near, all of us bring about a change in the beauty and self grooming products we choose. . Another remarkable change is the replacement of heavy, musk-y, amber-y perfumes by light floral, fruity, citrus deodorants, body splashes and antiperspirants and here's where we make room for a very big health disaster. I knew in general how antiperspirants clog the sweat pores but a lil' bit of research has given me a jolt and there goes my detailed post on ANTIPERSPIRANT or DEODORANT?!

Deodorants:
'Deodorants are substances applied to the body to affect body odor caused by bacterial growth and the smell associated with bacterial breakdown of perspiration in armpits, feet and other areas of the body. '
They do not stop sweating, they only stop the smell of sweat by neutralizing the body odor caused by bacterial action with sweat

Antiperspirants:
Antiperspirants, as the name indicates stop the production of sweat.
'An astringent preparation for reducing perspiration, usually containing aluminum or zirconium and used to prevent body odor and clothing stains.'
Now, it has been noted that people who tend to sweat a lot go for Antiperspirants to avoid the staining of clothes. The prolonged use of APs causes clogged pores in armpits which may further result in inflammation and infection of pores and sweat glands.

Here the million $ question is Antiperspirant or Deodorant?

The health effects of antiperspirants are a matter of dispute regarding their extent. A small percentage of people are allergic to aluminium and may experience contact dermatitis when exposed to aluminium-containing deodorants. After using a deodorant containing zirconium, the skin may develop an allergic, axillary granuloma response. Antiperspirants with propylene glycol, when applied to the axillae, is irritating and may promote sensitization to other ingredients in the antiperspirant. Deodorant crystals containing synthetically made potassium alum were found to be a weak irritant to the skin. Alcohol-free deodorant is available for those with sensitive skin. Aluminium is one of the few abundant elements that appears to have no beneficial function to living cells (non-essential metal).  Frequent use of deodorants was associated with blood concentrations of the synthetic musk galaxolide.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deodorant

Anti-perspirants contain aluminum. Aluminum has been linked to causing Alzhiemers disease and breast cancer. When you shave your underarms and then apply anti-perspirant you are exposing your body to the aluminum which is leaking through the broken skin and travelling through the lymphatic and nervous system. The aluminum works to inhibit the growth of bacteria which causes body odor. Anti-perspirants also contain toxic chemicals such as parabens. When a person uses anti-perspirant, they are clogging their pores. In order to release toxins in the body, the body needs to sweat. Sweating also helps the body cool down. If these toxins have nowhere to go, then they build up in your system and invade healthy cells, causing your immune system to break down. Deodorant is better than anti-perspirant in one way which is that it will reduce body odor without clogging the pores. Deodorant however still has many toxic chemicals.

The problem with antiprespirants is that they use aluminum, which is toxic, and gets into your body through the armpits, and then causes a whole myriad of diseases. A more minor problem someone mentioned is that they block your natural detoxification system, and thus "destroy your body."

If you have to use antiprespirants, you need to make sure you get ones that don't use aluminum, and as someone else said, just use normal deoderant. So much better for you, and it gets the job done.

Solution:

Health professionals are divided on the pros and cons of usinf Deodarants and Antiperspirants. I was amazed to find out contradicting material on some very authentic websites. So here's the solution.
If you want to avoid some or all of these chemicals yet remain welcome in polite society, what are your options? You can seek antiperspirants which contain fewer of the offending chemicals (e.g., unscented, without antibacterials, aluminiun chlorie) or use a deodorant part of the time rather than an antiperspirant as deodorants do not clog pores and do not stop the sweat, they only kill the odor producing bacteria hence killing the sweat odor . http://chemistry.about.com/b/2011/07/02/antiperspirant-health-hazards.htm

What's your take on the matter? How did you find my small lil research?

Lipsticks by Just Gold!!

You might have spotted this brand here and there but the reason I bought the lipsticks was that I fell in love with the shades while making payment on the cash counter of the local mart as they were displayed right beside it.

Starting from packaging,it's fair! Nothing too classy not cheap! I would have rendered it more towards Classy, had the golden colored writing not diminished within a week of using.

The shades I have are 152 and 174

Here's how 152 translates onto my lips

such a yummy nude pink.. no?

..and there goes 174

Talking about performance.. these lipsticks are heavily pigmented and have a creamy. They virtually stick to my lipsticks but have a tendency to turn feathery after 2 hours or so, therefore better wear them after moisturizing your lips. They have a crayon-like smell which is not unbearable but it might turn sickening for some. I top them with some fruity gloss to kill that smell! ;)
I have been wearing them off and on mainly for the creamy texture and lasting power..!
Over all, these are nice, low budget, not much-high quality, drugstore lipsticks. Nothing fancy, plain and simple!

Overview:
Brand: Just Gold
Product: Lipsticks
Pros: Heavily pigmented, creamy, lasts for around 3 hours.
Cons: Crayon like, waxy smell, turns feathery
Price: I don't exactly remember the price but I guess I bought it for OMR 1.2 which would equal around PKR 300/$3. I am sure prices vary from country to country..

Do you own any Just Gold lipsticks? Do you like them? Share your opinion in the comments below. I love you all!!

After trying so many cleansers and make up removers, I think my search is over. Moreover I don't need to use an eye make up remover and make up remover separately, although I had and still have quite an affair with Clinique-Take the day off eye makeup remover !!

Rimmel Vinyl Stars Gloss - Be A Star

I shifted from being a gloss person to a lipstick person as I shifted from student to work life. I grabbed Rimmel Vinyl Stars Gloss on my latest haul from Buymebeauty.com (Click here to see the post...) and I am very happy with my purchase.
